1933

The United States Office of Education received the administrative power from the Federal Board of Vocational Education.

1935

Vocational training of the handicapped was provided for by the Social Security Act.Vocational training, employment, and work relief was provided for by the Works Project Administration and Public Works Administration.

1936

The George-Deen Act increased federal support for vocational programs and included the addition of distributive occupations and teacher education to the list for funding.

1940

Vocational education programs received additional funding in order to train people to support the war effort and help readjust soldiers to civilian life.

1945

America joined UNESCO, an organization which would provide vocational training to underdeveloped countries.
