Methods for CTL – Participants will be able to create, implement, and evaluate contextual lessons. These instructional lessons will be supported by appropriate learning theories.

A Network Of Like-Minded Professionals – Participants will electronically join other teachers and naturalists before and after the retreat to continue to share new ideas and lessons.

Resources For Continuing Education – Participants will continue to receive materials and instructional ideas after completion of the retreat. Both the network for communications and continuing education will be supported by a website.

Curriculum Materials To Bring Home And Share – Participants will leave the retreat with materials and ideas to improve their professional practices. Included will be lessons they create during the retreat and an OA instructional kit.

Empowerment To Make A Difference – Participants are expected to leave the retreat with an increased zeal for social action. This activism may take many forms including encouragement of students to take action.
